Overview

The‘Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in EEE’announced in 2003 is a directive to prohibit the use of certain hazardous substances in all the electric and electronic equipment imported into own countries from Jul. 1st 2006 in EU.
The major contents of its revision announced in Apr. 30th2015 are an addition of total 4 kinds of phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP) and an application of suspension periods until Jul. 22nd 2019 for all the electric and electronic products and until Jul. 22nd 2021 for the medical appliances and monitoring and control devices.

Those who design and manufacture equipment when the electric/electronic equipment is launched in the market
- Preparation of technical documents and performance of inner production control procedures according to the Decision No 768/2008/EC(Module A)
- Declaration of conformance and marking of CE for the final equipment
- The technical documents should be stored for 10 years after the launching of the equipment in the market
Importer (Article 9)
Those who import the related electric/electronic equipment in the European market
- Confirming whether correspondence was made to the producer’s conformance declaration, technical document, CE marking, etc. for the imported equipment
Seller (Article 10)
Those who sell the related electric/electronic equipment in the markets
- Confirming whether the documents required together with equipment were prepared to be easily understood by the consumers or final users before the launching of the related equipment in the markets
